The program
Day by dayDay of arrival
If you took the UCPA flight: arrival in the afternoon at Aimé Césaire airport, transfer by bus to the sports village.
During your stay
D+ 300m - 4 hours of walking - 6 km - swimming from wild beaches - 30 minutes of transfer.
Day 3 - Hiking day on the Caravelle peninsula, a Mecca for freebooting.
4 hours of walking, 8 km, swimming and picnicking in Trésor Bay. Transfer to the Caravelle 1h30.
Change of scenery! After a warm-up on a dirt road, we get to the heart of the matter by going up to the lighthouse on the peninsula. Up there, a breathtaking view awaits us. 360° of landscapes between Mount Pelée, Dominica Island, Atlantic Ocean, Martinique Coast and of course the Caravelle Peninsula. We can observe the superb Baie du Trésor where we will have a picnic. We then recover the trail to explore a real mosaic of landscapes, cliffs torn by the waves, lunar course on andesite, dry forest and finally mangrove... At picnic time, a swim in the clear waters of this well-sheltered Bay is a must. After lunch, we still have 1 hour of walking to finish our journey through the mangroves and discover this surprising ecosystem. Our efforts will be rewarded with a stop at the Saint James Distillery where we will taste various rums and liquors.
Day 4 - The trail of the Jesuits.
D+ 600m - 4h30 walk - Swimming at the Lorrain river - 30 minutes transfer to Sainte-Cécile.
Course between tropical forest with footbridge and river in the heart of northern Martinique.
In the morning, 3 hours of walking in a mystical and wild atmosphere in the heart of the jungle on the Sainte-Cécile loop to the Lorrain river. Lunch and swim in the crystal-clear pools. 1-hour afternoon walk on the Jesuit Trail surrounded by endemic and typical plant species: tree ferns, river woods, white gum trees.
Day 5 - Day sea kayaking in the lagoons between the Îlets du Robert.
No steps. Transfer to Pointe du Robert 1h30.
The kayak day is accessible to all and good news, we have our foot on 80% of the course! From the kayak club, a few strokes of the paddle to ensure you control “your gear” and you are off to discover Chancel Island and Iguana Island. The encounter with these amazing animals takes place during a visit to the ruins of an ancient brick factory.
Picnic on one of the beaches of the lagoon with swimming, snorkeling and napping in a paradisiacal environment.
Day 6 - Ascension of Mount Pelée (1397m), the highest point in Martinique.
D+ 700m - 6 hours of walking - wind and mists, superb panorama in clear weather - 30-minute transfer to the Aileron car park
A real climb to finish your week of hiking.
Stage of 3 hours in the morning and picnic at the 3rd refuge or at the summit of the Chinois depending on weather conditions. The climate is often harsh, but if the sky is clear it is an enchanting contrast of the blue of the sky and the sea with the green of the mountain forest. If by chance, we are at the top when the clouds disperse, the whole of Martinique will stretch before our eyes.
Descent between 2:15 and 2:45 depending on the route chosen.
Day 7 - Free day: Relaxation or discovery according to your desires.
Possibility to rent a car to enjoy the island's main activities according to your desires: Swimming around the Îlets François, discovering the southern beaches, hiking to Mount Pelée, visiting the Balata gardens.
The Saint-Pierre Sports Village team will present you with the essential activities of Martinique that you would not have done yet.
