The program

Day by day

Day of arrival

Day 1: Arrival in Albania
International flight to Tirana. Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Tirana.

During your stay

Day 2: Divjake National Park/Apollonia/Llogora National Park
After breakfast, we set off by bike to explore Tirana, an atypical colorful capital that knew how to reinvent itself after its long communist period.
...
Discover the different districts of the city followed by a picnic by the lake. Transfer by vehicle to the ancient city of Apollonia, about ten km from Fier (about 2 hours drive). Founded in the 6th century BC by Greek colonists from Corinth, it became an important city under the Roman Empire. It was here that the Roman emperor Augustus studied. After visiting this unmissable site, transfer to the Llogora National Park (approx. 1h30), which consists mainly of fir and coniferous forests, which contrasts with the surrounding Mediterranean landscape (approx. 1h30). Overnight in a small hotel in Llogora, dinner on site. We leave unnecessary superfluous belongings in this hotel for the next 4 days.
3-hour bike/2-hour site visit

Day 3: Llogara National Park
Early departure in the direction of the crest of the Karaburun peninsula in Llogara Park. This national park, created in 1966, covers an area of about 1000 ha; during the communist period, it was a popular vacation spot for nomenklatura. From the top of Crete, you will have a magnificent view towards the Ionian Sea and the mountains inland. After the picnic, return to the hotel by bus (5 min). Dinner and night at the same accommodation as the day before.
5h30 of walking, altitude difference +600m/-400m.

Day 4: Logara National Park/Dhërmi /Gjipe Cove
We leave in the direction of the village of Dhërmi to the south of Llogora Park. A pretty village on the Albanian Riviera, Dhërmi offers several points of interest. We continue our hike to the south, the Gjipe creek is revealed before our eyes. We enjoy the seaside the rest of the afternoon. Overnight camping in a tent, dinner on site.
4 hours of hiking, altitude difference +450m/-650m.

Day 5: Sea kayaking
Day dedicated to exploring the coast by sea kayak where there are a succession of small coves and beaches with turquoise waters, and mountains plunging steeply into the sea... In the morning, we pick up our minivan (20 min on foot) and leave for Himara (30 min) to start the kayak trip. Relaxing afternoon at the water's edge. At the end of the day, we enjoy the seafront terraces in Himara. Dinner on site. Night in a bivouac in a tent.
3 hours of kayaking/altitude difference +135m.

Day 6: Qeparo Village/Relaxing by the sea
Transfer by minivan to the foot of the village of Kudhes... we start a 3.5-hour hike to arrive at the village of Qeparo, surrounded by olive trees, herds of goats and typical Mediterranean vegetation. Tasting of local products in Qeparo (honeys, candied fruits...)... the village offers a magnificent view of the Ionian Sea... Relaxation by the sea. Overnight camping in a tent on the Riviera.
3h30 of hiking, altitude difference +450m/-750m.

Day 7: Tirana
Transfer around 8 am to Tirana, the capital of Albania. Lunch en route and arrival in the early afternoon in Tirana. Visit the main sights of the city, including the “Et'hem Bey” Mosque, Skanderbeg Square, a large open space in the heart of the city, or the Tabakkane Bridge dating from the Ottoman era. Evening in the former Blok district, formerly reserved for the communist Nomenklatura, and now a trendy district of the capital. Dinner and overnight in a small hotel structure.

Last day

Day 8: End of the program. Transfer to the airport and international flight to France.

The course of this program is indicative.

SPOT

Gjipe beach

A paradisiacal beach

Gjipe Beach is at the end of a rugged cliffside path, overlooking the turquoise and transparent sea. Isolated, the beach is often deserted and promises beautiful swims in a postcard setting. Climbing and climbing enthusiasts can venture into the canyon that starts from the beach. Ropes sometimes help with the ascent, but few go all the way.
