This program makes you discover some of the most beautiful places in the country: the Soca and Bohinj valleys, the Soca and Bohinj valleys, Lake Bled, the Skocjan caves, the Karavanke chain and Slavnik where we will hike, the capital Ljubljana, a medieval city with Baroque and Art Nouveau influences, and finally, a beautiful stroll along the Adriatic coast and in the famous city of Piran, where the influence of the nearby Italy is already being felt! Day by day

Day of arrival

Day 1: Ljubljana/Bohinj
International flight to Slovenia. Arrival at Ljubljana airport. Reception of the group by the guide and transfer to the Bohinj Valley, at the foot of the Triglav National Park.

This first transfer gives us an idea of the sovereign nature that reigns in Slovenia. 60 km, about an hour's drive. A short stroll along Lake Bohinj is possible depending on the time of arrival. Dinner and overnight at the inhabitant's house.

During your stay

Day 2 and Day 3: Triglav Park/Bohinj Valley
Two days of hiking in the beautiful Triglav National Park. The only National Park in Slovenia alone covers more than 84,000 ha and 4% of the country's surface area.

Pride of Slovenes, the Park reveals its natural treasures to us: lakes, gorges, waterfalls, animals (golden eagles, chamois...), but also mountain villages, cheese factories, etc. Accommodation and dinner with a local resident on Day 2 and Day 3.
D2:4h30 of walking + 650 m of altitude difference and D3:5h30 of walking + 850 m of altitude difference.

Day 4: Lake Bled/Karavanke Range
Visit one of the jewels of Slovenia, Lake Bled with its castle and the church on the central island... Walk along the lake and climb to a belvedere to enjoy a unique point of view. Then transfer to the Karavanke massif which marks the border between Slovenia and Austria (50km, about 1 hour drive). Hike to the summit of Golica (1834 m), then descent to the Golica refuge (1532 m). Night at the refuge, dinner on site.
4h30 of walking during the day, altitude difference + 950 m/-300m.

Day 5: Soca Valley
From the refuge, hike downhill to find our vehicle, then transfer to the Soca Valley via the Vrsic pass (50 km, 1h20 drive). The Soca river is remarkable for its limpidity and its beautiful emerald color. Picnic near Bovec, the “Mecca of Slovenian rafting”. Hike along the Soca River up to its source. As an option, it is possible for those who wish to do rafting on the Soca River (to be paid on site: €35). We reach Tolmin at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the inhabitant's house.
Approximately 4 hours of walking during the day (Height difference + 150 m/- 850 m).

Day 6: Tolmin Gorge/Skocjan Caves
A short stroll in the morning in the Tolmin Gorges. We are heading to the Trnoski Gozd massif which overlooks the Vipava Valley. We follow the ridge that leads to the “Eye of Otlica”, a large limestone rock pierced in the center, from where we can enjoy the magnificent view of the Vipava wine valley and in the distance, on the Adriatic Sea. In the afternoon we leave for the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Along the way, we visit the impressive Skocjan Caves, with its deepest underground canyon in Europe. The caves are listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site. Dinner and overnight at the inhabitant's house.
5 hours of walking, altitude difference + 500m/-500m.

Day 7: Piran/Ljubljana
In the morning, a short transfer (40 minutes by car) to the charming town of Piran, with Italian accents, on the edge of the Adriatic Sea. Visit the city where Italian and Slovenian languages coexist in equal measure. Bathing possible.
At the end of the afternoon, transfer to Ljubljana, the capital. Ljubljana (“the beloved”), with Baroque and Art Nouveau accents, is a very pleasant capital to live in, especially in summer with its pedestrian streets, its markets. 1h30 drive in the afternoon.
Accommodation at the hotel, dinner on site or in a restaurant in town.

Last day

Day 8: Transfer to the airport and return international flight.

Triglav National Park

A park at the top of Slovenia

The Traglav National Park is located in the Julian Alps. Its name comes from its summit, Triglav, which is also the highest point in Slovenia, at 2,864m, and its symbol since it even appears on the country's flag. The only national park in Slovenia, it is very well developed and has numerous hiking trails, along the gorges or in the heart of the forest. The more sporty can embark on the ascent to the summit, or venture out by kayak on the transparent waters of Lake Bohinj or the various rivers that cross it. The wildlife is very rich, you can meet marmot, fox, deer, and even brown bears. Shelters are also open for those who would like to spend the night in the park.
