Day 1 - Flight to Kuusamo via Helsinki.
Lunch not included. Reception at the airport and transfer to Jatkonsalmi (75 km, about 1 hour drive) where we will spend three nights.

During your stay
D2 - Boating and hiking in the Julmä-Ölkky canyon
Short transfer to the Julmä-Ölkky canyon. Boat trip to admire magnificent cliffs.

Then departure on foot to cave paintings dating back 4000 years. After lunch, walk back to our accommodation. 10 to 18 km, 3 to 5 hours of walking. Sauna and bathing. Dinner and overnight at the Jatkonsalmi cottage.
Two days of canoeing between lakes and rivers
Day 3 - After an introduction to canoeing, we set off on the calm waters of the lakes linked together by small rivers. It is not uncommon to encounter semi-domestic reindeer in the Hossa region. Swimming possible. 10 to 15 km of canoe depending on weather conditions. Dinner and overnight at the Jatkonsalmi cottage.
Day 4 - Our paddling takes us to the activity center of the Hossa Nature Reserve. After a hot lunch, continue our canoe trip, to discover this region nicknamed the “fisherman's paradise” with its crystal-clear water ponds and its dunes covered with Scots pine trees. We dock at the end of the lake at the foot of the hotel where we spend the night. 10 km of easy canoeing, a half-hour walk. Overnight in Hossa or nearby.
Day 5 - Hike around Hossa
Hike in the taiga in the vicinity of Hossa. Picnic around a fire near a lake. 12 to 17 km, 5 to 6 hours of walking. Overnight in Hossa or nearby.
J6 - Biking (40 km)
Departure by bike from Hossa in the direction of the Arola farm, via the village of Juntusranta. Small paved road in a gently hilly wooded environment. Approximately 40 km, 3 to 4 hours of cycling. Night at the Arola farm (sauna).
J7 - Hiking in the footsteps of brown bears and domestic reindeer, through the typical landscapes of the boreal forest: peatlands, ponds, primary forests and spruce forests covered with lichens. Last sauna, and typical Finnish meal. (4 to 5 hours of walk, 14 to 17 km). Overnight at the Arola farm.

The Hossa National Park was created in 2017 on the occasion of the centenary of the country's independence. Located in the heart of nature, it offers lovers of wide open spaces numerous trails to enjoy the pleasures of hiking, snowshoeing and mountain biking. Water sports enthusiasts are not left out as the park has beautiful lakes and rivers where you can canoe and fish. Many of the trails are easy and the park is therefore ideal for a family nature day.
