Expérience/Coaching SportThis ancestral means of locomotion is at the origin of all skiing disciplines. The first traces go back to prehistory. The activity will allow you to discover an authentic, wild and devilishly well-guarded valley. Haute Maurienne with its peaks exceeding 3000m, its glaciers, its traditional villages, its heritage and the Vanoise National Park.
You will initially evolve in the great plains of Bessans. Changes in the forest will not be left behind. The objective is to arm yourself with a minimum of technique to approach the two-day mini raid and its night in the best conditions in the best conditions in a refuge at the bottom of a valley steeped in history and a place of passage since the dawn of time. You will also understand the evolution in specific environments, reading the snow cover, orientation, mapping and preparing for a raid. Each day will be conducive to new discoveries... while sliding!

The program
Day by dayDay of arrival
Day 1 - Reception at the UCPA center in Val Cenis from 8:30am. If possible, arrive before 12:00. Afternoon, equipment and first tracks with your instructor.
On the way back, check in with our host (quality and comfortable cottage near the center). 18:30 welcome brief and presentation of the stay, not to mention the traditional welcome drink!
During your stay
D2 - Technical progress in the morning and first walks on the Bessans site, a Mecca for Nordic skiing in France. In the afternoon, first approach to the snowpack and introduction to the use of a DVA, not to mention the discovery of the valley.
Day 3 - We continue to improve in the morning and in the afternoon we will explore the forests, look for traces and clues of wildlife life.
Day 4 - First approach to the raid. We will leave for the day, in order to discover the jewels of the valley, Bonneval sur Arc, hamlet of Ecot...
Day 5 - Technical refinement in the morning, discovery of new areas see site depending on snow conditions. In the evening, preparation for the two-day mini raid.
Day 6 - Climb to a refuge in the footsteps of the Holy Shroud, discoveries of a wild valley under the benevolent gaze of the glaciers of Haute-Maurienne.

It may undergo modifications or adjustments, depending on technical criteria, safety requirements or the climatic conditions of the moment. In this case, only those responsible for UCPA supervision are authorized to take the necessary decision (s).
It can also be adapted according to the technical and physical level of the participants.

Val Cenis
A valley and a multi-faceted ski area
The Val Cenis resort, located in the heart of the preserved mountain of the Vanoise National Park, is composed of 5 villages: Lanslebourg, Lanslevillard, Termignon, Sollières-Sardières and Bramans. The pleasures of skiing are discovered on 125 km of slopes for all levels (12 green, 19 blue, 19 blue, 21 red, 5 black and 2 snowparks), accessible thanks to 28 ski lifts between 1400 and 2800 m above sea level. It is also a major spot for snowkiting, as well as for cross-country skiing and ice climbing. This resort also offers magnificent ski touring routes.
