THE UCPA STORY
Once upon a time an association was created, known as UCPA, born in 1965, at the initiative of General de Gaulle who wished to make accessible to as many young people as possible, without discrimination, the opportunity to enjoy and progress in the practice of sport, embracing the values of solidarity.
Over the decades, UCPA has furthered its commitment, breaking down the barriers of access to sport, creating a social link and allowing each and every one to discover their strengths and limits through the practice of sport.
Every year, UCPA proposes a sporting adventure to more than 3 million people through its leisure sports facilities (aquatic centres, horse riding centres, skating rinks…) and its sports villages located in natural sites.
UCPA proposes 130 natural and exceptional locations in France, ranging from mountain locations to the seacoast and the countryside, and 70 destinations throughout the world. UCPA also manages 70 sports centres in France.
In tune with young people and current trends, UCPA continues to explore new horizons with the opening up of UCPA SPORT STATIONS, multiplex sports centres centrally located in the inner cities (Meudon, Reims, Bordeaux, Angers, Nantes…) and its first new generation Youth Hostel in Paris. This Hostel project is a first of its type in France, comprising 59 rooms and a multiplex sports centre of 3 000 m2.
